No Master and No Slaves

The County of Los Angeles has requested that equipment vendors avoid using the industry term “Master/Slave” in product descriptions and labelling.

[A] recent example included the manufacturer’s labeling of equipment where the words “Master/Slave” appeared to identify the primary and secondary sources. Based on the cultural diversity and sensitivity of Los Angeles County, this is not an acceptable identification label.

Hm. Grace Jones should be banned for her “Slave to the rythm.” Not to mention “Master and Servants.” Me thinks this list could grow quite long…

Oh yes, the very important personal opinion on all things posted: This is silly.

Bad luck! That may well be the end of Master Fatman’s American dream…

Hmm, having read the story at CNN a bit more detailed, I doubt Master Fatman will enter the computer equipment market… :-)
