The part of the brain that might have an influence on sexual appetite is called amygdala, and this is also the place where fear lives. It looks as if sex and fear are room-mates in my head. That explains quite a few things…

I can heartily recommend Descartes’ Error - a nice popular science read on the connections between higher brain functions of the frontal lobe and the oldest parts of the brain, i.e. the amygdala and with it fear, anger, sexdrive and all the other basic emotions.
You don’t want to damage the Amygdala by the way, since strange things could happen to you

Hm. I’d better stop drilling holes in my head then…
