MT-plugin: Optional Redirect
David Raynes: Optional-Redirect v0.1
Got tired of the new Movable Type 2.661 feature that hides the URL of commenters behind a redirect-url.
The feature was made to prevent comment spammers from getting google pagerank points, but I think we all like to mouse-over the links to see where people come from.
With this plugin you can get the old behaviour back.
I haven’t installed it yet, though. So eh, hang tight while I get to it ;-)
Update: done! Finally.

Movable Type 3.0 promises a login for comments. I will seriously consider implementing that!

Hm. I will consider that when all else fails.
I think that login for comments is a big time comment stopper. You wouldn’t get all the quick and casual comments.
Personally I find it almost offensive that people demand registration for comments.
The solution could be, that all blogging platforms shared the same ’single-site’ login, so a cookie identified your session across all weblogs where you have been registered.
Logging in at acutecut.com would mean loggin in at dalager.com — given that you had registered with same login/password both places.
Does it make any sense?
